Ohio School Employees Retirement System hired City of London Investment Management to run $50 million in active emerging markets equities, said Tim Barbour, spokesman, in an e-mail.
Funding comes from cash, and the hire is part of the $12.3 billion pension fund's non-U.S. equity portfolio. The target allocation and actual allocation as of March 31 were both 22.5%.
Separately, the pension fund committed €30 million ($33.9 million) to European buyout fund Cinven VI. The pension fund previously committed the same amount to the manager's fifth fund.
Also, the pension fund issued an RFP for a firm to provide proxy-voting advisory services. The current firm, ISS, is invited to rebid, Mr. Barbour said.
Proposals are due at 4 p.m. EDT on June 24. Finalist presentations are tentatively scheduled for July, followed by potential due diligence visits sometime in August. The RFP is available on the pension fund's website.
