Kentucky Retirement Systems, Frankfort, committed or invested roughly $131.5 million total with four managers, said William A. Thielen, executive director.
In hedge funds, KRS made the following new investments:
- $30 million in BlackRock Global Alpha Opportunities fund;
- $25 million in Finisterre Global Opportunity fund, managed by Finisterre Capital; and
- $20 million to Anchorage Capital Partners.
In real estate, KRS committed an initial roughly €50 million ($56.5 million) to Patron Capital V, a European value-added fund.
KRS administers roughly $11 billion in pension assets and $4 billion in insurance assets.
