State Street Global Advisors combined its various alternatives divisions to form a global alternative investment strategies group, spokeswoman Anne McNally said.
The new group encapsulates SSgA's global macro, alternative exposures and liquid alternative investments divisions, as well as its smart beta funds.
“This group will ensure the delivery of a comprehensive suite of alternative strategies to assist our institutional and intermediary clients,” Ms. McNally said in an e-mail.
The new group will be led by William Marr, senior managing director and former head of liquid alternative investments. His new title is global head of alternative investment strategies.
SSgA reported $2.296 trillion in assets under management as of March 31.
