Illinois State Treasurer's Office, Springfield, rehired AKF Consulting as administrative consultant for its $3.8 billion Bright Start Direct, $2 billion Bright Start Advisor and $2 billion Bright Directions 529 plans, said an award announcement on the treasurer’s website.
AKF will also serve as administrative consultant for the new Achieving a Better Life Experience plan, a tax-free savings account for people with disabilities.
The firm will help the treasurer’s office in the formulation, structuring, marketing, implementation and oversight of the programs.
An RFP was issued in February due to AKF’s pending contract expiration and the launch of the ABLE program.
A spokesman could not immediately be reached for additional information.
Marquette Associates was rehired as investment consultant for the 529 plans earlier this year.
