Eric Varvel was named CEO of Credit Suisse Global Asset Management, said Credit Suisse spokesman Justin G. Perras.
Effective June 1, Mr. Varvel will replace Robert Jain, who will join multistrategy hedge fund manager Millennium Management as a partner and co-chief investment officer.
Mr. Varvel will be based in New York and report to Iqbal Khan, CEO of the international wealth management division. He will also be a member of the wealth division’s management committee.
Mr. Varvel was chairman of emerging markets and sovereign wealth funds at Credit Suisse and a senior adviser to the CEO.
