CalPERS' investment staff made commitments totaling $925 million to two private equity managers, show agenda materials for the pension fund's investment committee meeting scheduled for May 16.
The commitments were made in March.
The investment staff of the $293.6 billion California Public Employees' Retirement System, Sacramento, using its delegated authority committed $425 million to Ares Corporate Opportunities Fund V, a buyout fund managed by Ares Management and $500 million to Advent Global Private Equity VIII, a buyout fund managed by Advent International.
