New York State Common Retirement Fund, Albany, made five private equity commitments totaling $1.59 billion.
Each commitment was with an existing manager for the pension fund.
The funds and the commitments are:
- Two funds totaling $700 million that are managed by Vista Equity Partners. Vista Equity Partners Fund VI, with a $500 million commitment, will invest in software companies in North America, according to information posted on the $178.3 billion pension fund's website. Vista Credit Opportunities Fund II, with a $200 million commitment, will invest in primary and secondary loans in the private software debt market, the pension fund website said.
- KKR Americas Fund XII, $600 million. Managed by KKR, the fund focuses on control buyout opportunities, primarily in North America and Mexico, the website said.
- Warburg Pincus Private Equity XII, $240 million. The fund focuses on a growth-oriented investments, primarily in the Americas, the website said.
- FIMI Opportunity Fund VI, managed by First Israel Mezzanine Investors, received a $50 million commitment for investments in “middle-market, Israel-based or Israel-related companies,” the website said.
