Ohio School Employees Retirement System, Columbus, hired Wilshire Associates as general investment consultant, said Tim Barbour, spokesman.
The $11.8 billion pension fund issued an RFP in October due to its policy to put the services out to bid every five years and because incumbent consultant Summit Strategies Group's contract expires June 30. Summit was a finalist along with Pension Consulting Alliance.
Separately, the pension fund committed $55 million to Lubert-Adler/Laramar Urban Neighborhood Fund, a non-core real estate fund. The pension fund previously committed $75 million to Lubert-Adler Real Estate Fund VII in April 2015.
Also, the pension fund hired Scopia Capital Management to run a $50 million long/short equity strategy. Funding comes from cash.
