Texas Tech University System endowment, Lubbock, committed or invested $64.5 million total with three managers, said Chris Gailey, operations manager, in an e-mail.
In alternative equity, the $990 million endowment invested $30 million in Sabre Dynamic Equity Fund, a long/short equity hedge fund managed by Sabre Fund Management.
In real assets, the endowment committed $25 million to Corrum Capital Trade Finance, which targets trade finance companies that issue short-term funding on trade/shipping-related items, and is managed by Corrum Capital Management, Mr. Gailey wrote.
On behalf of its alpha pool, the endowment invested $9.5 million in Balyasny Atlas Enhanced Fund, an absolute-return focused hedge fund managed by Balyasny Asset Management.
The endowment previously committed $20 million to Corrum Capital Management for a customized private credit fund-of-funds strategy in 2015. Sabre and Balyasny are new relationships.
The endowment has an 8% and 10% target to alternative equity and real assets, respectively.
