New York State Common Retirement Fund, Albany, is looking to fill risk, fixed-income and real assets staff positions, said Matthew Sweeney, spokesman for state Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, the sole trustee of the $178.3 billion pension fund, in an e-mail.
The open positions are:
- A director of fixed income to oversee investment and operations staff dedicated to fixed income, which is primarily managed internally;
- A real assets senior investment officer to assist with the development and monitoring of the real assets portfolio, lead internal and external meetings, and build relationships with external managers and consultants;
- A real assets investment officer to independently conduct manager due diligence, develop investment recommendations, and help build and maintain manager relationships; and
- A chief risk officer to oversee the retirement fund’s risk management program spanning all asset classes and investment operations.
The real assets positions are new. Navnoor Kang, the previous fixed-income director, left the plan in February. Raynald Leveque, previously chief risk officer, has moved to other duties within the pension fund, Mr. Sweeney said.
The size of the pension fund’s fixed-income portfolio is approximately $45 billion and its real assets portfolio, approximately $442 million.
The job postings are available on the pension fund’s website.
There are no set deadlines for applications and hiring decisions.
