Neil Slater was named CEO and representative director of Standard Life Investments’ newly opened Tokyo office.
He previously served as a fund manager with the firm's global real estate team.
Mikifumi Watanabe, who joined Standard Life in 2015 as a senior adviser, has been appointed vice chairman in Japan, reporting to Mr. Slater, said a news release.
A spokeswoman for the firm said the strategic alliance Standard Life Investments forged in 2010 with Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank remains unchanged.
