Imperial County Employees’ Retirement System, El Centro, Calif., is conducting a shortlist search for an active emerging markets equity manager to run about $21 million, said Michael A. Hermanson, plan administrator.
The $666 million pension fund is conducting the search because current manager Vontobel Asset Management’s co-CEO and chief investment officer Rajiv Jain is leaving his firm in May. Mr. Hermanson said the manager will be included on the shortlist.
Mr. Hermanson added that he expects a decision to be made at the pension fund’s May 18 board meeting.
Investment consultant Verus Advisory is assisting.
