Oklahoma City Employee Retirement System hired State Street Global Advisors to run about $19.5 million in passive emerging markets equity, said Rena Hutton, pension manager.
Funding will come from Vontobel Asset Management, which was terminated in March as an active emerging markets equity manager because of the upcoming departure of Rajiv Jain, chief investment officer of Vontobel's quality growth equities boutique.
The $638 million pension fund has a 5% emerging markets equity target.
Investment consultant Asset Consulting Group assisted with the termination.
