Peter Hobbs was named managing director of private markets at bfinance, said a spokesman.
He replaces Derek Williams. Further details were not available by press time.
Based in London, Mr. Hobbs will be working to further expand the consultant’s private markets business. The spokesman said private markets is an area where bfinance has had a lot of demand from investors, but that there is no set expectation of how many hires the firm will make.
“It is an area that has seen a significant rise in interest from institutions as they search for better returns and performance and our team of consultants and specialists has been advising a broad range of both pension funds and insurance companies to help them achieve their investment goals in this area,” said CEO David Vafai in a news release. “We see private markets as key to our overall expansion strategy and with (Mr. Hobbs) leading the team we are confident that this important element of our business will make a strong contribution to bfinance’s overall growth in the coming years.”
Mr. Hobbs was previously managing director for real estate research and key global accounts at MSCI. A spokeswoman was not available to comment by press time.
