J. David Enriquez was named senior investment officer, private equity, for New York City's Bureau of Asset Management, said Eric Sumberg, spokesman for Comptroller Scott M. Stringer, in an e-mail.
It is a new position. Mr. Enriquez reports to Alex Done, group head of private markets.
The Bureau of Asset Management is the unit in the city comptroller's office that advises pension board trustees on investments and managers for the $154 billion New York City Retirement Systems.
As of Jan. 31, the New York City Retirement Systems had $10.2 billion in private equity.
Previously, Mr. Enriquez was a director at Rothschild. Further information on his role could not immediately be learned.
