Texas Teacher Retirement System, Austin, earmarked a total of $400 million in March for four private investment strategies.
In venture capital, the $126.6 billion pension fund committed $125 million to Lightspeed Venture Partners Select II for investment in expansion and late-stage companies in the U.S., Israel and India. TPG Growth Spectre Co-Invest received a $75 million commitment for investment in companies in international developed markets, said a transaction report obtained by Pensions & Investments.
The pension fund also committed $100 million to Element Co-Investment, a global private equity buyout fund managed by Bridgepoint.
Also, AEW Capital Management’s AEW Value Investors Asia II was awarded a $100 million commitment for value-added real estate investments in properties in high-growth Asian cities, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul and Shanghai, according to the March transaction report.
