Houston Municipal Employees Pension System committed $20 million to GEM Realty Fund VI, said Peter Koops, spokesman for the $2.3 billion pension fund, in an e-mail.
The real estate fund is managed by GEM Realty Capital.
The pension fund had a 9.9% allocation to real estate as of Sept. 30, according to Pensions & Investments data.
