Christopher C. Langs joined GW&K Investment Management as a portfolio manager on its taxable bond team, said Tom Powers, co-president, in an e-mail.
The position is new. Mr. Langs will focus on corporate credit, directly overseeing the corporate bond research effort, leading the credit committee. He will report to Mary F. Kane, partner and lead taxable bond portfolio manager.
The taxable bond team had $3.73 billion in assets under management as of Dec. 31.
Mr. Langs was a high-yield portfolio manager at Calamos Investments. It could not be learned by press time if he was replaced; Calamos spokesman Jeff Kelley could not be immediately reached for comment.
GW&K currently has more than $26 billion in AUM, including $5 billion in institutional assets.
