Pranay Gupta joined Singapore-based Fullerton Fund Management as head of multiasset strategies.
The position is new at the firm, which operated as the in-house fund management division of sovereign wealth fund Temasek Holdings until it was spun out in 2003.
Mr. Gupta comes to Fullerton from Hong Kong-based Allocationmetrics — a consulting firm he founded and which is now inactive with his appointment at Fullerton, said a Singapore-based spokeswoman for the firm.
Prior to starting his consulting firm, Mr. Gupta served as the chief investment officer, Asia, at Lombard Odier through 2014.
Manraj Sekhon, Fullerton's CEO and chief investment officer, said in a news release that Mr. Gupta will lead the build out of Fullerton's multiasset capabilities.
As of Dec. 31, multiasset strategies accounted for S$1.2 billion ($873 million) of Fullerton's S$13 billion in assets under management.
