Andrew F. Pyne, a PIMCO executive vice president and product manager will become the firm’s head of equity product management in the second quarter this year, spokeswoman Agnes Crane said in an e-mail.
Mr. Pyne will replace Sabrina Callin, managing director and head of equity product management, who has decided to retire from the firm in the second quarter, Ms. Crane said. Ms. Callin was at PIMCO for 18 years.
Mr. Pyne joined Pacific Investment Management Co. in 2011 from Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he was a managing director and client portfolio manager for fundamental equity.
In his current role at PIMCO, Mr. Pyne focuses on equity strategies. Ms. Crane could not immediately provide information on whether Mr. Pyne will be replaced in his current role.
PIMCO’s equity business has about $40 billion in assets under management, a fraction of the $1.43 trillion the predominately fixed-income-oriented firm has under management.
Virginie Maisonneuve, PIMCO’s chief investment officer for equities, left the firm in mid-2015 following the money manager’s decision to move away from managing active equity strategies and focus on enhanced indexing strategies. She was not replaced.
