Sixty-four percent of private equity investors indicated their investments met their expectations, with another 30% indicating their private equity portfolios had exceeded their expectations, according to a survey by alternative investment research firm Preqin.
The data came from 225 institutional investors in December.
Some 70% of survey respondents agreed that the interests of private equity limited partners and general partners are aligned.
Also, 70% of private equity investors surveyed cited pricing and valuations as the biggest challenge in running an effective private equity program in 2016. Performance — cited by 40% of respondents — was the second biggest challenge.
