Pennsylvania State Employees' Retirement System, Harrisburg, returned a net 0.4% for the year ended Dec. 31.
The $26 billion pension plan generated $116 million in earnings, net of fees, in 2015, said a news release from the plan. It returned a net 0.9% for the three-month period ended Dec. 31.
Returns for the year were 7.8% for alternatives, 0.7% for cash reserves, 0.1% for hedge funds, -0.7% for fixed income, -1.8% for global equities and -2.2% for real assets. For the quarter, the pension fund returned 4.6% for global equities, zero for cash reserves, -0.3% for hedge funds, -0.5% for real assets, -1% for fixed income and -2% for alternatives.
