Louisiana Municipal Employees' Retirement System, Baton Rouge, is considering searching for its first chief investment officer, said Warren Ponder, acting director of the $770 million pension fund.
The pension fund's board voted to consider splitting the duties of director following the June 2015 retirement of previous director Robert Rust, who oversaw both the administration and investment management of the pension fund.
Mr. Ponder said a special three-person committee has been appointed by the board to determine how to go forward with a search for the separate positions of executive director and CIO. The committee met for the first time on March 11; a timetable for the search has yet to be determined.
