Thomas P. Callan was named head of BlackRock's global equity platform and Stuart Reeve has been appointed head of the London-based global equity team, a BlackRock spokeswoman confirmed.
They replace Gary Clarke, co-head of the global equity platform at BlackRock and head of the global equity team, who announced he was leaving the firm.
Mr. Clarke previously co-managed the global core and focus strategies alongside Teun Draaisma, who will continue to manage the strategy. He also co-managed long-horizon equity with Mr. Draaisma; Mr. Reeve and Andrew Wheatley Hubbard are now responsible for this strategy.
Mr. Clarke was co-head of the global equity platform alongside Mr. Callan.
Mr. Callan, managing director and senior portfolio manager, oversees the global opportunities team's investment process, leads the team's investment strategy group and provides portfolio and risk management oversight for all of the team's strategies and offerings. In addition, Mr. Callan is a member of BlackRock's leadership committee.
Besides being head of the London-based global equity team, Mr. Reeve, a managing director, is also the portfolio manager for the global dividend portfolios and long horizon equity portfolios.
