Christian Schmitz joined Carlyle Group as a managing director focusing on distressed and special situation investment opportunities, a new position, said Christopher Ullman, spokesman, in an e-mail.
Mr. Schmitz joined Carlyle on March 2 from Och-Ziff Capital Management, where he was a senior analyst on the alternative investment firm’s corporate credit team. He is based in London. Och-Ziff spokesman Joseph Snodgrass could not be reached by press time for comment on a replacement.
