Ruulke Bagijn was named global head of real assets private equity at AXA Investment Managers, said a spokeswoman.
The position is new, and Ms. Bagijn will start in May. “Further details will be communicated in due course,” added the spokeswoman in an e-mail.
Ms. Bagijn will join from Dutch pension fund provider PGGM, where she was chief investment officer for private markets. She joined PGGM — which has €183.3 billion ($201.6 billion) in assets under management and manages the assets of the €163.6 billion Pensioenfonds Zorg en Welzijn, Zeist, Netherlands — in 2009 as head of the private equity team.
“(Ms. Bagijn) has been a prominent colleague and representative of PGGM,” said Eloy Lindeijer, CIO at PGGM, in a statement on the firm’s website Tuesday. “She has led the expansion of our private markets platform, which offers clients access to investments in private equity, infrastructure, real estate and other non-listed investments.”
A spokesman for PGGM could not be reached for comment by press time.
