Ohio State Highway Patrol Retirement System, Columbus, is searching for an active international core equity manager to run between $35 million and $45 million, said Dennis Smith, chief investment officer.
The $810 million pension fund issued an RFP because the pension fund’s board elected to switch to active management from the passive international core equity portfolio managed by Vanguard Group. Mr. Smith noted there were no issues with Vanguard; the board simply elected to move to active management.
Proposals are due on March 11. Mr. Smith said he hopes a decision will be made by the end of April.
The RFP is available on the pension fund’s website.
