Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Houston, is searching for a bundled provider for its 457 plan and two 401(a) plans, said a spokeswoman in an e-mail.
The search is being conducted due to the upcoming contract expiration of incumbent provider Empower Retirement on Dec. 31. Empower is invited to rebid.
The RFP is available on the transit authority’s procurement website.
Proposals are due by 3:30 p.m. CDT on March 29. A hiring decision is anticipated in August.
As of June 30, the plans had approximately $86.1 million in assets combined. One of the 401(a) plans — the Employee Savings Plan — was closed to new contributions on Jan. 1, according to the RFP.
