Mark de Vries joined Nikko Asset Management in Tokyo as chief risk management officer.
In that role, he replaces Masayuki Ishihara, who left the company, said a Tokyo-based spokesman. Mr. Ishihara couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
Mr. de Vries comes to Nikko from Singapore-based Dymon Asia Capital, where he served as managing director, head of quantitative analytics and risk, according to a Nikko news release.
A spokesman at Dymon Asia Capital declined to comment.
