Euan Stirling was named head of stewardship and environmental, social and governance investment at Standard Life Investments, said a spokeswoman.
The newly created role expands on the role of Guy Jubb, global head of governance and stewardship, who will retire March 31. Mr. Stirling will take on these responsibilities as part of his new role.
Mr. Jubb will continue to lead the £250.6 billion ($357.3 billion) money manager’s engagement with companies until his retirement.
“This new role will enable us to enhance our client offering in an area where we are already regarded as market leaders and will ensure that Standard Life Investments continues to be at the forefront of stewardship and ESG investment,” said Rod Paris, chief investment officer, in a news release.
Mr. Stirling is currently investment director at the firm. The spokeswoman said he will not be replaced directly, but that his responsibilities will be taken on by the equities team.
