A look at institutional hiring trends as reported by Pensions & Investments in 2015.*
Alts still leads: In 2015, reported hirings of alternatives managers continued to outpace those of traditional managers.
Traditional asset classes: The increase in “other traditional” volume was driven by one hire for unspecified passive strategies, as well as balanced fund allocations.
PE rules: Private equity accounted for the largest percentage of alternatives hires reported by P&I in 2015.
LGIM gains big: Legal & General benefited from a group of seven English pension funds hiring the firm in November to manage a pool of passive strategies.
