Patrice Blanc was named CEO at Amundi Smith Breeden, said spokeswoman Robin Schoen.
Effective Dec. 17, he replaced Michael J. Giarla, who is leaving the firm at year-end to pursue his interests in non-profit endeavors.
Mr. Blanc was chairman and CEO of Jefferies Bache and president of the futures brokerage division of Jefferies & Co. It could not be learned by press time if he was replaced; Richard Khaleel, a spokesman for Jefferies & Co., declined to comment. Jefferies sold the Bache business to Societe Generale in April.
Amundi Smith Breeden, the North American investment headquarters for Amundi, has $10 billion in assets under management.
