June Wong will join State Street Global Advisors in March as senior managing director and head of the firm's Asia ex-Japan business, said spokesman Pieter Bakker.
Ms. Wong replaces Ting Li, who left SSgA over the summer to join Hong Kong-based investment bank ReOrient Group as co-CEO.
Ms. Wong will come to SSgA from Columbia Threadneedle Investments, where she served as vice chairman for Asia-Pacific and CEO of the firm's Hong Kong business.
A Columbia Threadneedle spokeswoman said Ms. Wong's replacement will be announced at the start of the new year.
