Orange County Employees Retirement System, Santa Ana, Calif., committed $75 million to Pantheon Ventures, $35 million to Adams Street Partners for a growth and venture capital portfolio and $40 million to Mesirow Financial Private Equity Advisors for a co-investment fund, said Robert Kinsler, spokesman for the $12.3 billion pension fund, in an e-mail.
The Pantheon commitment is the third commitment in a three-year agreement to commit between $50 million and $100 million annually to a custom private equity fund-of-funds portfolio. OCERS hired Pantheon Ventures in 2014 through a collaborative procurement process with other pension plans. OCERS has already committed $175 million plus $50 million of so-called “dry powder” to be invested opportunistically in a recessionary market.
