Los Angeles County Employees Retirement Association, Pasadena, plans to launch an RFP as early as January for a private equity consultant, said Vache Mahseredjian, interim chief investment officer for the $47.5 billion pension fund, in an e-mail.
Grosvenor Capital Management is the incumbent and has an ongoing contract. Grosvenor can rebid. A deadline for proposals and a selection date have not yet been set. The RFP will be posted on LACERA’s website.
Separately, LACERA rehired Townsend Group as its real estate consultant. Pension fund officials launched an RFP in July. The Townsend Group has been the pension fund’s real estate consultant since 1992.
Also, LACERA’s investment board at its Dec. 9 meeting voted to invite Meketa Investment Group and Wilshire Associates, finalists in its search for a general investment consultant, to the Jan. 13 meeting for interviews. A selection could be made as early as the January meeting. Wilshire is the incumbent. The search was launched in March.
