Seattle City Employees’ Retirement System committed $8 million to Stonepeak Infrastructure Fund II, said Jason Malinowski, chief investment officer, in an e-mail.
It is the $2.3 billion pension fund’s first infrastructure commitment, and the first to a fund managed by Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners.
The pension fund issued an RFP in May for infrastructure managers following the creation of a new 3% target to the asset class, at the time saying it planned to make a total of $50 million to $70 million in commitments. Mr. Malinowski did not provide further information on a timetable for more commitments.
