As of Aug. 31, Stanford University reported $31.4 billion in investments held by the university and the school's hospitals, of which $22.2 billion was the university's endowment pool.
According to Stanford's 2015 annual financial report, released Thursday, public equities accounted for the largest portion of the school's investments (22.2%), followed by private equities (21.8%) and real estate (20.5%).
The school's merged pool, which includes endowment assets, returned 7% for the 12 months ended June 30. For the 10-year period, the merged pool had an annualized return of 8.7%.
