Bo Kratz has joined Conning in Hong Kong as CEO, Asia Pacific.
A Conning news release Monday said Mr. Kratz will oversee all of the Hartford-based firm’s operations in Asia, including its joint venture with Taipei-based Cathay Financial Holdings, Cathay Conning Asset Management.
Mr. Kratz replaces Mark Konyn, who joined AIA Group, effective Sept. 1, as group chief investment officer.
Mr. Kratz joins Conning and CCAM from Northern Trust, where he served as Hong Kong-based managing director and head of Asia Pacific, asset management.
A Northern Trust spokeswoman said a search is underway to fill Mr. Kratz's role. In the interim, Wayne Bowers, head of Northern Trust Asset Management in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific, will oversee the position.
