Au King Lun on Monday joined Eastspring Investments, the Asian asset management subsidiary of Prudential PLC, as CEO of Eastspring Investments Hong Kong.
The position is a new one, said a Hong Kong-based spokesman for Eastspring. Mr. Au will be tasked with growing Eastspring's Hong Kong operation, with a focus on the firm's cross-border activities with China.
He comes to Eastspring from BOCHK Asset Management, an affiliate of Hong Kong banking heavyweight Bank of China (Hong Kong), where he served as CEO.
A BOCHK Asset Management spokesman said Wayne Shum, a managing director and head of institutional business with the firm, will take on the role of acting CEO.
The spokesman declined to say if a search will be launched for a permanent CEO.
