Louisiana Teachers’ Retirement System, Baton Rouge, made two new commitments totaling up to $150 million, said Dana Brown, director of public markets.
The $16.5 billion pension fund committed up to $100 million to Thomas H. Lee Equity Fund VII, a private equity and credit fund that focuses on business and finance, health care, and media and information services, managed by Thomas H. Lee Partners. It is a first-time commitment to the manager.
The pension fund also committed up to $50 million to TCV IX, a venture capital fund managed by Technology Crossover Ventures. The pension fund previously committee up to $50 million to TCV VIII in November 2012.
