Jon Withaar and Steven Deitch joined multistrategy hedge fund manager Deimos Asset Management as managing directors and portfolio managers.
The positions are new, part of Deimos’ expanding its multistrategy hedge fund capability. The pair will develop and co-manage Asia-focused equity event-driven hedge fund strategies for Deimos, and also will manage a portion of the firm’s flagship multistrategy fund, according to a news release.
Mr. Withaar was managing partner, chief investment officer and co-portfolio manager of Brasidas Capital Management, an event-driven hedge fund manager. Mr. Deitch was a partner and co-portfolio manager at Brasidas.
Jennifer Gill, a Deimos spokeswoman, did not respond to an e-mail request for information about the fate of Brasidas, which was launched in 2014. A call to Brasidas was not answered.
Deimos managed $354 million as of April 27, according to its most recent ADV filing with the SEC.
