El Paso (Texas) Firemen & Policemen Pension Fund committed $8 million to Global Infrastructure Partners III, said Mark Austin, deputy executive director, in an e-mail.
The GIP fund is targeting $12.5 billion and will invest in large-scale infrastructure assets on a global basis.
The $1.3 billion pension fund has a 10% target allocation to private equity.
Investment consultant Meketa Investment Group assisted.
