Robert T. Theller was named retirement administrator at Fresno (Calif.) City Retirement Systems, effective Jan. 11, said Stanley McDivitt, outgoing administrator, in an e-mail.
Mr. McDivitt has been with the pension fund since November 1981 and was appointed as its first administrator in 1989. He is retiring in January.
Previously, Mr. Theller was senior investment officer at the $13.9 billion Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund where he oversaw public and private market investments. A search is underway for his replacement, said Ohio spokesman David Graham. A job posting is available on the Columbus-based pension fund's website.
Applications are due by Dec. 4. A targeted hiring date has not been determined.
Executive search firm Alliance Resource Consulting assisted the Fresno retirement system, which has a combined $2.6 billion in assets between two pension funds.
