Owais Rana was named managing director, head of pensions and liability-driven investment solutions at Conning, said spokeswoman Katrin Lieberwirth.
The position is new. Mr. Rana is responsible for overseeing Conning’s LDI solutions business, working with pension plans and other institutional investors. He reports to Steve Sonlin, managing director and head of risk and capital management solutions.
Mr. Rana was global head of the LDI solutions group at J.P. Morgan Asset Management. Anthony Gould, global head of pensions solutions and advisory, assumed his responsibilities, said JPMAM spokeswoman Kristen Chambers.
Conning had $93 billion in assets under management as of Sept. 30.
