Louisiana State Employees’ Retirement System, Baton Rouge, named Copper Rock Capital Partners, Goldman Sachs Asset Management and Thompson, Siegel & Walmsley as finalists in its shortlist search for two active international small-cap equity managers to run a total of up to $495 million, said Robert W. Beale, chief investment officer, in an e-mail.
The $9.9 billion pension fund began the search earlier this fall after an allocation study earlier this year recommended an increase in the target allocation to international small-cap equities to 5% from 3%.
Mondrian Investment Partners currently is the pension fund’s sole international small-cap equity manager and runs about $280 million. The firm was part of the search, Mr. Beale had said earlier.
Interviews will take place at the pension fund’s Dec. 17 investment committee meeting, with a decision expected shortly thereafter.
