New York University is searching for a director of investments, said a job posting on the university’s website.
It could not immediately be learned whether the position is new or whether the selected candidate will replace someone in that role.
The director of investments will help manage NYU’s $3.5 billion endowment, with a special focus on hedge funds and any other assigned asset classes, the posting said.

The endowment had an asset allocation of 54% equity, 24% opportunistic and credit, 12% fixed income and 10% real assets as of Aug. 31, 2014, the most recent information available.
Kathleen E. Jacobs, chief investment officer, was not immediately available for additional information.
