Mark Willmott was named head of U.K. institutional business at GAM, said a spokeswoman.
Mr. Willmott takes on U.K. responsibilities for institutional business from Matthew Lamb, head of institutional and fund distribution for the U.K. and Middle East, who left the firm last month. Details on his new role could not be learned by press time. His responsibilities in the Middle East have been taken on by Rossen Djounov, who is head of structured investments and covers South America, Eastern Europe and Australia from a sales perspective.
London-based Mr. Willmott reports to Craig Wallis, head of distribution and operations. He is responsible for distribution and relationship management for investors and consultants in his role.
Mr. Willmott was previously director of institutional business at Jupiter Asset Management, said a statement from GAM. A spokeswoman for Jupiter said Mr. Willmott left more than a year ago. He was not directly replaced, but there has not been a reduction in headcount on the team, she said.
GAM has 119 billion Swiss francs ($120.4 billion) in assets under management.
