Rhode Island State Investment Commission, Providence, committed $50 million to Stonepeak Infrastructure Fund II, a North American infrastructure fund managed by Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners, said David Ortiz, spokesman for state Treasurer Seth Magaziner, who oversees the commission.
This is the first time the pension fund committed to Stonepeak. The commitment is subject to contract negotiations.
The investment commission manages the assets of the $8.3 billion Rhode Island Employees' Retirement System, Providence.
