Tim Bird joined Allianz Global Investors as a director in its U.K. institutional sales and client servicing team, said a spokesman.
The role is new, and Mr. Bird reports to Philip Dawes, head of U.K institutional. Based in London, he works to ensure the money manager offers the strategies and solutions that clients are looking for, said Mr. Dawes in a news release.
“As one of the world’s most important financial markets, the U.K. is of strategic importance to both us and our clients,” said Mr. Dawes.
Mr. Bird was previously at T. Rowe Price, where he was head of the U.K. and Irish institutional business. Andrew Skeat, client service executive, has assumed institutional oversight on an interim basis, said a spokeswoman for the firm.
AllianzGI has €446 billion ($491 billion) in assets under management.
