Keith Dixson was named head of international development at Candriam Investors Group, said a spokesman.
The position is new. Mr. Dixson is responsible for implementing Candriam's development ambitions outside of Europe, with a key focus on North America and Asia. He reports to CEO Naim Abou-Jaoude.
“Candriam is already pursuing a number of international opportunities," said Mr. Abou-Jaoude in a news release. "Ahead of this distribution push, we already serve pension funds in Chile and also in Australia via our well established local contacts. Candriam’s expertise is being distributed in the U.S. through (New York Life Investment Management's) U.S. retail distribution platform, and we are exploring ways to deepen relationships with institutional clients in North America, and more particularly in the U.S. Furthermore, we are investigating the best way to access other promising markets in Asia."
Mr. Dixson was previously a partner in the business development division at Cheyne Capital, where he focused on North America. A spokesman was not available to comment by press time.
Candriam has €90.3 billion ($102.4 billion) in assets under management.
